Planning the details of your special event can be fun and exciting. From decorations to entertainment and everything in between, the details of your big day should reflect you or your organization in a positive way. Mapping out these details is an exercise in discovering your favorite things, and that includes the menu.

But how do you plan a menu that will get people excited about your event? Especially when foodie culture is so prevalent on social media and it seems like everyone's a critic. At Tribeca Rooftop + 360° in NYC, we have our own in-house catering department that can make almost anything your appetite desires. Our meals earn rave reviews, and it's easy to see and taste why. In fact, our cuisine is so diverse you may have trouble deciding what’s for dinner. But don’t despair. If you’re still stumped about what to serve, here are some suggestions for planning the perfect menu.

Dietary Restrictions

One of the first things you should consider when planning your menu is the dietary restrictions of your guests. Do you have guests who require certain dietary restrictions for religious reasons, or who are allergic to certain ingredients? Do you have guests that could be vegetarian or vegan? Consider these factors and be sure to leave options on the menu so that these guests can still enjoy their meal. If you aren’t sure, build the options into your menu and include a meal card with your invitation so your guest may check off which meal type they prefer. This will also help the kitchen staff to know how much food to prepare for each dietary requirement.

Seasonal Ingredients

One of the wonderful things about the seasons changing is that your menu can take advantage of seasonal ingredients. In the fall, pumpkins are popular and easy to come by, so pumpkin soups, pies, and breads are an easy way to add some seasonal flavor to your menu. In the summer, fresh fruits like watermelon and strawberries can be featured, and in winter citrus fruits are abundant. Seasonal vegetables like root vegetables, asparagus, and zucchini are also excellent menu additions that we can incorporate into your menu.

Trending Foods

Want to wow your guests with insta-worthy food? Check out some hashtags and find out what’s trending on social media. This can give people an opportunity to try something new, and it’s sure to make your event one of the most buzzed about events of the year!

The Classics

While trending foods are all the rage, don’t discount the importance of offering the classics. After all, a perfectly cooked steak or lobster tail never goes out of style!

No matter what’s on the menu, our catering team is up for the challenge. To learn more about what we can offer you at your next wedding, social, or corporate event, please contact Tribeca Rooftop + 360° in NYC today.
